Deliveries and Proof of Delivery

Capturing proof of delivery

Signatures, photos and notes captured by the driver at the door.

Proof of delivery is what you fall back on when a customer says a parcel never arrived. Routelink captures it on the driver’s device at the moment the stop is completed.

What can be captured

  • Signature. The recipient signs on the driver’s screen with their finger.
  • Photos. Any number of photos — the parcel at the door, the goods on the shelf, damage on arrival.
  • Notes. Free text from the driver.

Completing a stop

When the driver marks a stop as delivered, they’re prompted for whatever proof you’ve asked for. Everything is timestamped and attached to the stop, along with where the device was when it was captured.

Once the stop is complete, any customer notification you’ve configured for delivery goes out automatically.

When a stop fails

Not every stop succeeds. Rather than leaving it open, the driver marks it as failed and picks a reason — nobody home, refused, access blocked — and can add photos and notes in the same way. Failed stops stay visible on the planning screen so you can reschedule them onto a later route.

Finding proof later

Proof of delivery stays attached to the stop, so you can pull it up against the customer, the date, or your own order reference when a query comes in.
